Works With Your Generation

Technology agnostic. Built to enrich what you already run.

NexxGenn is not tied to one generation technology. We choose, or work with, the generation that fits the site and the schedule, and we design the hydrogen platform to enrich it within the manufacturer's published limits. Every major class of behind the meter generation can take hydrogen today. What differs is how much, and what it takes to get there.

Generation classHydrogen compatibilityTypical roleEmissions note
Gas turbines, aeroderivative and industrialHydrogen enriched gas within the combustor's rating; diffusion combustors generally accept more than dry low emission designs, and newer models are qualified higherBaseload and peaking; five-minute class starts on many aeroderivativesCarbon falls with the hydrogen share by energy; NOx managed within the combustor's limits
Reciprocating gas enginesHydrogen ready engines accept enriched gas today, with dedicated high hydrogen designs availableBridging, modular baseload, fast starting reserveFast deployment in modular blocks; enrichment lowers fuel carbon
Linear generatorsFuel flexible by design; operate on enriched gas as configured, with higher hydrogen shares available through design optionsLoad following baseload in modular unitsLow combustion temperature, low NOx
Solid oxide fuel cellsOperate on natural gas, hydrogen, and blends across a wide rangeContinuous baseload at the highest electrical efficiency; high grade heat for coolingNo combustion; low NOx; carbon falls with the hydrogen share
PEM fuel cellsPure hydrogen from site storageBackup and fast response; the zero-emission layerZero NOx and zero CO2 at the point of use; clean product water

A site can mix classes. Turbines or engines carry the bulk megawatts, solid oxide fuel cells take continuous duty where efficiency and heat matter most, PEM fuel cells stand behind all of it as zero-emission backup, and one hydrogen platform serves every one of them.
